This June Awareness Month, Cure HHT was able to spread awareness in a huge way with a 24-foot-wide billboard! Our “More Than Just a Nosebleed” billboard was perched on Route 50 in Maryland, the most traveled highway to all the Maryland beaches where approximately 30,000 cars passed this sign every single day. Can you imagine having one of these in every state on the most traveled highways, popular sports arenas, the Las Vegas strip or Times Square? We can! Spreading awareness is so important because it opens doors to funding opportunities for research and treatment, opportunities that are vitally important for rare diseases like HHT, but most importantly, awareness saves lives! Educating our medical professionals and local communities is a never-ending responsibility.
Fun Fact: Not only did we alert approximately half a million of people about HHT while they were driving by our billboard, we also posted our Billboard photo on our social media platforms and reached another 28,000 people! Now that’s spreading HHT Awareness!
