Centers of Excellence
What the designation actually means
An HHT Center of Excellence is a medical center recognized by Cure HHT for demonstrated expertise in diagnosing, treating, and managing HHT. Each one runs a multidisciplinary team working from the International HHT Guidelines, so the pulmonologist, the interventional radiologist, the hematologist, and the ENT are reading from the same page about the same patient.
That coordination is the point. Without it, people with HHT end up as their own case managers, repeating their history to every new specialist and hoping someone connects the nosebleeds to the anemia to the shortness of breath.
Centers also contribute to research, training, and education, which is part of how the network keeps growing. There are now more than 55 HHT Centers of Excellence worldwide.

These centers have been reviewed by Cure HHT against defined standards for multidisciplinary HHT care. If one is within reach of you, this is where to start. Search by state, province, or city, and check whether the center treats adults, children, or both.
Outside North America
International Centers of Excellence
HHT centers operate across Europe, Asia, South America, and Oceania. Formal certification outside North America is still being developed, so these are listed separately from the certified network. Many of them have decades of HHT experience and work from the same international guidelines.
If a Center is not within reach
Not everyone lives within travelling distance of a Center of Excellence, and regular trips are not realistic for every family. The Cure HHT physician directory lists clinicians who have identified themselves as experienced in or interested in HHT, searchable by location and specialty.
One thing to know before you use it: these listings are self-submitted rather than reviewed by Cure HHT, so they do not carry the same guarantee as Center accreditation. They are a starting point for finding someone local who already knows what HHT is, which is often the difference that matters most.
